Transit Equity Day

Tuesday, February 4 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Transit Equity Day is a national collaborative effort of several organizations and unions to promote public transit as a civil right and a strategy to combat climate change. We are building a national movement to expand public transit, to make it more accessible and cheaper, and to lift up the good, green, union jobs public transit requires.

Rally to build power for a public transit system that:
 Meets Transit Workers’ Union Contract Demands
 Expands Services
 Reduces fares and decriminalizes fare evasion
 Reduces vehicle emissions

Why February 4? Rosa Parks’ Birthday! Rosa Parks is an iconic figure among many of the civil rights era.
We make the connection to her act of resistance on public transit to highlight the rights of all people to high-quality public transportation powered by clean/renewable energy.
