Sacrifice zones are heavily polluted areas — often fence-line communities in low-income, Black and Brown neighborhoods — that bear the disproportionate brunt of industrial toxins and systemic environmental racism.
Join us for a film screening of The Sacrifice Zone by Physicians for Social Responsibility LA, a documentary that unpacks Big Oil’s latest climate scam: carbon capture and storage (CCS). Hear first-hand from communities already being impacted by carbon dumping projects in the Central Valley and Bay Area.
Learn how carbon capture and storage is creating a new wave of fossil-fueled sacrifice zones in California, including right here in the Delta region of the Bay Area.
The documentary film will be followed by a panel and Q&A.
