Rally & Press Conference + Speak Out at the Public Utilities Commission
August 13 @ 9:30 am - 1:00 pm
Our power bills are too damn high, and now PG&E wants to jack them up even more! They’re even trying to pass the cost of new data center infrastructure on to us!
Join us in fighting back! Take action on August 13th in solidarity with the Affordable Energy Campaign to protest these new rate increases. Tell the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC): Lower our bills. Keep the power on. Make data centers & corporations pay their own way!
We’ll have a press conference and rally in San Francisco before the CPUC meeting.
Then we hope everyone will speak out at the CPUC meeting—either in-person or by phone—to tell them why you oppose these unjust rate increases to line PG&E’s pockets, the hardship they would pose for your family, and why you believe we all deserve affordable energy as a human right!
Tentative Schedule:
- 9:30am: Arrive in front of CPUC in San Francisco
- 9:45am-10:30am: Rally and Press Conference
- 10:30am-11:00am: Go through security and sign-in
- 11:00am-1:00pm: Public Comment*
*for those who call-in, we can encourage you to call in around 10:50am to get in the queue for public comment.
Address: CPUC Auditorium, 505 Van Ness Ave., San Francisco, CA 94102
Call-in-Number: (800) 857-1917
Passcode: 9899501#
We’ll post more details and talking points closer to the date. Thank you for taking action to demand that the CPUC stop PG&E from gouging us for the energy we need to live.
