The Future of Oil and Gas in California

UC Berkeley’s Center for Law, Energy and the Environment (CLEE) has launched a new initiative to examine future pathways for the oil and gas industry in a low-carbon world. As part of this project, CLEE is kicking off a multi-part webinar series to focused on the long-term future of the oil and gas industry in California and beyond. The series will feature conversations with experts examining and engaging on this issue from a range of disciplines.
Kicking off the series with a conversation led by experts on California’s energy policy and economic landscape – The Present and Future of Oil and Gas in California, on April 23 at 3:00 p.m. PDT – we will discuss how the state can manage the transition to low-carbon energy. We’ll be joined by:
- Siva Gunda, Vice-Chair of the California Energy Commission
- Severin Borenstein, Professor of the Graduate School, E.T. Grether Chair in Business Administration and Public Policy, and Faculty Director of the Energy Institute at Haas
- Darien Sturges, Fellow, Center for Law, Energy & the Environment, UC Berkeley School of Law
