SUMMARY:Protest on October 7th: PG&E - Cancel the Palantir contract & Reduce our utility rates!
DESCRIPTION:PG&E is making record profits\, while rate payers struggle to pay their utility bills. \nPG&E is also partnering with Palantir Technologies\, the same company that provides software to ICE\, used to track and harm immigrants. \nOn October 7th in SF\, PG&E is sponsoring the “Power & Energy Society Resiliency Summit” and the PG&E CEO will be making the keynote address. \nJoin us! Let PG&E and conference attendees know PG&E needs to cancel the Palantir contract and make utility rates affordable! \nWhere: Hilton San Francisco Union Square\, 333 O’Farrell St\, San Francisco\, CA 94102 (near Powell Street BART) \nDate: Wednesday\, October 7th \nTime: 8AM – 9:30AM \nhttps://actionnetwork.org/events/protest-pge-on-october-7th?source=direct_link&

SUMMARY:Rally\, Speak-Out & Vote: No Data Centers in Oakland!
DESCRIPTION:It’s time to turn up and tell City Council\, “NO Data Centers in Oakland!” \n\n2:30 pm: Rally outside City Hall\n3:15 pm: Sign-up for public comment in Council Chambers – SUPPORT Agenda Item 6.15\n\nIf you arrive after 3:30 pm when the Council meeting starts\, you may not be able to give public comment. \nWe need to support Councilmember Fife’s Ordinance for a 45-day Moratorium on Data Centers. This is an important first step towards an outright ban. \nThe rapid deployment of data centers driven by the generative AI boom is a great threat to communities across the country\, especially Oakland\, which already faces industrial and commercial pollution that disproportionately impacts lower income and BIPOC residents. Without immediate action\, an AI data center in Oakland could guzzle water unsustainably\, keep fossil fuels online\, drive more pollution\, and raise your PG&E bills. \n\nhttps://actionnetwork.org/events/rally-speak-out-vote-no-data-centers-in-oakland?source=direct_link&referrer=group-350-bay-area-action

SUMMARY:Building Power this Election Season: Combatting Big Oil\, Big Tech\, and the Buyout of Our Democracy
DESCRIPTION:Are you worried about the tech and fossil fuel industry giants trying to buy out our political system? \nFossil fuel giants have historically been huge funders in elections and politics at both the state and federal level\, gaining tax incentives and relaxed regulations in the past two years. In California’s 2026 midterm election cycle\, tech companies and billionaires are flooding in hundreds of millions of dollars to support Republican or pro-business Democratic candidates\, to defeat the Billionaire Tax Act as well as lessen cryptocurrency and AI push-back. \nJoin us on the 24th to learn about how Big Tech\, Big Oil\, and fascism are all fueling each other–and how we can build a movement to protect our communities\, our planet\, and our democracy. \nhttps://actionnetwork.org/events/building-power-this-election-season-combatting-big-oil-big-tech-and-the-buyout-of-our-democracy?

SUMMARY:Community Forum on Palantir
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Oakstop in the Broadway Gallery Suite for a fascinating program and important dialogue about Palantir’s role in providing the technology to ICE to terrorize immigrants\, creating a surveillance state\, erasing regulations on the tech industry\, and destroying the social safety net in the US – which all adds up to a major threat to our democracy. We will have speakers presenting about national organizing\, as well as local efforts to hold Palantir accountable\, and time to discuss what we can do to fight back. \nhttps://actionnetwork.org/events/community-forum-on-palantir/

SUMMARY:Radicals\, Realists\, and Repression: The State of Activism in the U.S.
DESCRIPTION:Join us on May 21st at 6:30pm for a panel on Radicals\, Realists\, and Repression: The State of Activism in the US. \nThe panel will feature Prof. Thomas Zeitzoff\, professor in the School of Public Affairs at American University and author of “No Option\, But Sabotage\,” Prof. Omar Wasow\, Assistant Professor in UC Berkeley’s Department of Political Science\, longtime environmental campaigner and organizer\, and co-host of the Green and Red Podcast\, Scott Parkin and Jason Myles\, host of THIS IS REVOLUTION>podcast. \nWe’ve been in the midst of a serious rollback of first amendment protected activities. States are passing anti-protest legislation\, police are increasingly militarized\, surveillance is being drastically increased on activist groups and the Trump administration is turning activism into terrorism. \nBUT\, we are also seeing new large-scale resistance from the massive No Kings and May Day mobilizations to fierce resistance to ICE in Los Angeles\, Chicago and Minneapolis\, communities and movements are fighting back. The anti-AI Data Center movement has blurred political divides across the country. Activists are not only marching in the street and disrupting authoritarian forces\, but actions at Tesla dealerships\, Kimberly Clark warehouses\, the offices of corporate war profiteers and other locations show a radical edge to today’s resistance. \nThis panel discussion will focus on the state of activism in the United States from its radicals to its realists\, how the state is responding with repression\, and understanding why movements and activists make the choices they do. \nWHERE: The Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists; 1924 Cedar St. Berkeley CA \nWHEN: May 21st\, 2026. Doors open at 6:30pm. The event begins at 7pm. \nRSVP: https://bit.ly/3QFR1XO

SUMMARY:Fossil Free Future Festival: Joyful Resistance to Chevron
DESCRIPTION:Chevron’s shadow has loomed over Richmond since its inception\, but now we are dreaming of a future beyond fossil fuels\, where Richmond is for the People\, Not Chevron. We are moving from an extractive economy to a regenerative one\, where our community owns its land\, labor\, and local food systems. \nWe are gathering for a rolling festival and concert: live music from local artists and a giant statue will roll through the streets of Richmond to uplift the struggles of indigenous land and water protectors\, organizers from the front lines here in Richmond and across the continent\, to Chevron’s role in attacks on Palestinians\, and to bring art and joy to resisting Chevron’s attempts to shape our local and global economies for their shareholders’ profits. \nThis festival is a celebration of our collective power to build the “sacred middle” work of transformation—ensuring that as we phase out fossil fuels\, we cultivate a regenerative society that returns power to the people and puts the health of our earth above corporate profit. \n\n11:00am Indigenous Opening Ceremony at Keller Beach\n12:00pm Festival at Judge Carroll Park\n1:00pm – 2pm Rolling Festival March\n\nThis event will be the 13th annual gathering of Anti-Chevron Day\, which historically has uplifted voices of communities around the world that seek accountability from the global oil giant for the destruction they have caused. \nWant to sponsor and table at the festival? Use this form. \nSponsored by: Richmond Our Power Coalition\, Idle No More SF Bay\, Oil and Gas Action Network (OGAN)\, Rich City Rays\, Amazon Watch\, Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN)\, Tiny House Warriors\, Fencelines Project\, Arab Resource and Organizing Center (AROC)\, BDS Movement\, Boycott Chevron Campaign\, Sacred Places Institute\, Richmond Shoreline Alliance\, Richmond 4 Palestine and more.
