Twitterstorm for 100% Clean Electricity and passing SB 100!
January 8 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Join 350 Bay Area Legislative Committee and volunteers on January 8th for an afternoon TWITTERSTORM to promote the passage of SB 100 — a bill to move Calif to 100% Clean, Zero Carbon Electricity by 2045.
What is a twitterstorm you might ask? It is a storm of tweets – many tweets on an issue, sent with specific recipients in mind. It’s a great way to raise the visibility of the issue.
We’ll be sending messages at the same time as groups around the state on this date/time, to raise public visibility for SB 100 and 100% clean electricity. SB 100 is expected to be taken up again in the Assembly in January, so this social media “event” is timed to show Assemblymembers, the Governor and others widespread support for this bill and the goal of 100% clean electricity.
This event is mainly for people who have a Twitter account, but if you are interested in supporting SB 100 and willing to try something new, please join us. We’ll have all the materials you’ll need to participate, and can show you how to set up a twitter account.
Please arrive at 12:30pm if you can so we can share instructions and get ready to tweet. You don’t have to stay the whole time—but coming at 12:30 to get an orientation will help us a lot.
You can stay for an hour or the whole time. We’ll provide snacks and everything else you need.
BRING YOUR CHARGED CELL PHONE.
- WITH US: We’ll meet in person somewhere in the East Bay, probably in Berkeley(TBD). We’ll all work together and keep track of our group tweeting efforts and progress, have snacks and a good time together.
- ON YOUR OWN: If you are an experienced twitter user, and can’t make it in person, we’d still love to have you participate on Jan 8th between 1 and 4pm, even if you can only do a few tweets that afternoon. Please RSVP below and we’ll send you a GUIDE to the twitterstorm plans with all the hashtags, twitter handles and tweets we’ll be using.
