Stop the Money Pipeline February Protest
Friday, February 28 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Join us on the streets in the SF Bay Area to demand that JPMorgan Chase — the #1 US Bank funding fossil fuel projects — divest and move their investments to clean, renewable energy.
Extinction Rebellion SF Bay Area along with other Bay Area climate groups (Rainforest Action Network, 350 Bay Area, 350 Silicon Valley, XR Youth, Wet’suwet’en Solidarity Front Bay Area, Diablo Rising Tide, CodePINK, and others) have joined an extended, escalating campaign aimed at putting pressure on JPMorgan Chase to stop financing the fossil fuel industry.
Stay tuned for Friday protest actions in February and March leading up to Earth Day Week in April. View the flyer here.
JPMorgan Chase is by far the biggest funder of the fossil fuel industry worldwide – the ONLY U.S. funder of the Jordan Cove Pipeline.
In the 3 years since the Paris Agreement, JPMorgan Chase provided the fossil fuel industry with $196 billion in financing.
They are the #1 banker of arctic oil & gas drilling, the #1 banker of ultra-deepwater oil & gas drilling, the #2 banker of fracking (right behind Wells Fargo), the #1 banker of Liquid Natural Gas and the #1 U.S. banker of coal mining.
