Planetary Collapse: Psychological and Emotional Aspects

Tuesday, October 29 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Facing the end of our lives is daunting. Facing the end of life as we know it on Earth is overwhelming. This meeting will cover scientific facts about climate change and planetary collapse, as well as human responses to these facts.  Loosely based on books such as The Uninhabitable Earth (David Wallace-Wells, 2019) and Losing Earth (Nathaniel Rich, 2019). After this meeting, a bibliography will be distributed electronically to participants who elect to receive it.

Speakers include:
Alex Trope, MD, Climate Psychiatry Alliance (UCSF Dept of Psychiatry)
Elizabeth Villano and Sam Plunkett, Organizers, Sunrise Movement
Hilary McQuie, Organizer, Diablo Rising Tide
Nan Farley, Operations Director, 350 Bay Area

Co-sponsored by the Sierra Club, SF Bay Chapter. This is not a Library sponsored program.
