Legislative Committee Meeting

January 14 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

First legislative committee meeting of 2018 will focus on SB 100 and gearing up for a fast start to the legislative session (which started Jan 3). We welcome new volunteers interested in working on state climate legislation.

Sunday, January 14, 2-4pm.
Sierra Club Bay Chapter Office
2530 San Pablo Ave # I, Berkeley

Our big legislative priority is SB 100, State Sen. Kevin de León’s bill requiring all of California’s electricity to be generated from clean, non-zero carbon sources by 2045.

A guest speaker from the Union of Concerned Scientists will give us an SB 100 update and answer our questions.

If you are wondering:

  • What does California have to do to reach the 2045 goal?  Where are we now?
  • Can we achieve such an ambitious target and still have a strong economy and affordable utility rates for all?
  • How will SB 100 affect/benefit the lives of people in the state?

Get your questions answered on January 14 and join us to help pass SB 100. We start promptly at 2pm – please be on time.

If you are new to the 350 Bay Area Legislative Committee and would like a new member orientation before the meeting, please contact David Shearn dlshearn@comcast.net
