Intro Meeting for Bay Area Supporters of Our Children’s Trust
February 24 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Twenty-one youth from all over the U.S. are suing the U.S. government for climate justice. Their strong voices, and the hopefulness of the Youth v Gov case, are an inspiration to youth and adults alike as they work to secure the right to a science-based stable climate and healthy atmosphere for all present and future generations. At this meeting, staff from Our Children’s Trust will provide an overview and update on the case. They’ll introduce themselves and talk about how we can build on a Bay Area Youth v Gov support network for local climate activists, teachers, and youth advocates. Folks will share ways of utilizing the Youth v Gov case as a learning opportunity to engage and empower local youth. Attendees will also brainstorm ways of supporting the twenty-one youth and Our Children’s Trust as the case proceeds to trial. There will be time for announcements and sharing upcoming learning opportunities and actions. Refreshments will be provided.
Please RSVP if you can, so organizers know how many people will be attending.
