Help Pass SB 100: CA’s Clean Electricity Bill
Friday, August 11, 2017 - Friday, September 15, 2017

Over the next 2 days we’re in an all-out statewide campaign to pass Senate Bill 100 by Senator Kevin de Leon to put California on the path to 100% clean electricity by 2045. With all the alarming news about extreme heat and wildfire impacts around the world, the unacceptable power and influence of the fossil fuel industry, and recent reports that the world only has a 5% chance of keeping temperature increase below the Paris/UN Climate goal of 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit), we need compelling and BIG ideas about how to transition to 100% clean energy. SB 100 is just such a bill and provides a great opportunity to be out across our communities talking about how California can and must move to clean energy as quickly as possible. And guess who is opposing this bill – oil companies, big utilities, the chamber of commerce and some businesses.
A recent survey by the Public Policy Institute of California shows extremely strong support for 100% clean electricity.
Q: Do you support a measure by the state legislature to require 100% of the state’s electricty to come from renewable sources by 2045? (note: this is essentially what SB 100 requires)
