Earth Month Kickoff at the Albany Bulb!

Saturday, April 2 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join the Mobilizing Team for a tour of the Albany Bulb, a former landfill-turned-park with a history of art and activism. Weather allowing, we’ll enjoy a picnic on the beach, explore the natural and artistic landmarks in the area, and contribute art of our own to promote climate/sustainability messages! Event postponed if raining.

RSVP here to let us know you’re coming:

The plan:

  • 1pm meet for picnic on the beach — find the group with 350BA banners and Tshirts at the north end of Albany Beach here: http://goo.gl/maps/us2kzT2vu8fWFhdH9
  • 2pm we’ll depart for a little walk around and art time
  • All ages and species welcome
  • We’ll provide spray paint and some stencils, but feel free to bring any art or materials you’d like to contribute  (ideas: yarnbombing, metal/ceramic recycled material installation…) — more details on this can be shared later with RSVPs
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on if you want to paint, and a pair of work gloves if you’d like, sunhat/layers recommended

Transportation: The Bulb is easily accessed on the Bay Trail from the north or south; recommend biking from North Berkeley BART across the Buchanan bike trail (15 min ride), from El Cerrito Plaza BART via the Central Ave bike path onto the Bay Trail (15 min ride), or taking the 18 or 72 bus to San Pablo and Buchanan Streets and walking/biking from there.

Planning on taking transit and biking or hiking in and want to lead a group to the Bulb? Contact Allison to be a group lead and we can connect you with others going the same way!
