First in the Nation Vote to Ban Natural Gas

Thursday, May 2 @ 2:00 pm

This Thursday the Berkeley City Council’s Policy Committee on Facilities, Infrastructure, Transportation, Environment, & Sustainability (FITES) will vote on Councilmember Harrison’s proposed groundbreaking Ordinance to ban natural gas in new construction of mid/high rise residential units. We’ve been told no other jurisdiction in the country has taken this step yet. The proposal is coming from Council Members Harrison, Davilla, Bartlett, and Hahn. If the Committee votes to approve, the proposed ordinance will be referred to the City Council for final adoption.
