SUMMARY:Fossil Free Future Festival: Joyful Resistance to Chevron
DESCRIPTION:Chevron’s shadow has loomed over Richmond since its inception\, but now we are dreaming of a future beyond fossil fuels\, where Richmond is for the People\, Not Chevron. We are moving from an extractive economy to a regenerative one\, where our community owns its land\, labor\, and local food systems. \nWe are gathering for a rolling festival and concert: live music from local artists and a giant statue will roll through the streets of Richmond to uplift the struggles of indigenous land and water protectors\, organizers from the front lines here in Richmond and across the continent\, to Chevron’s role in attacks on Palestinians\, and to bring art and joy to resisting Chevron’s attempts to shape our local and global economies for their shareholders’ profits. \nThis festival is a celebration of our collective power to build the “sacred middle” work of transformation—ensuring that as we phase out fossil fuels\, we cultivate a regenerative society that returns power to the people and puts the health of our earth above corporate profit. \n\n11:00am Indigenous Opening Ceremony at Keller Beach\n12:00pm Festival at Judge Carroll Park\n1:00pm – 2pm Rolling Festival March\n\nThis event will be the 13th annual gathering of Anti-Chevron Day\, which historically has uplifted voices of communities around the world that seek accountability from the global oil giant for the destruction they have caused. \nWant to sponsor and table at the festival? Use this form. \nSponsored by: Richmond Our Power Coalition\, Idle No More SF Bay\, Oil and Gas Action Network (OGAN)\, Rich City Rays\, Amazon Watch\, Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN)\, Tiny House Warriors\, Fencelines Project\, Arab Resource and Organizing Center (AROC)\, BDS Movement\, Boycott Chevron Campaign\, Sacred Places Institute\, Richmond Shoreline Alliance\, Richmond 4 Palestine and more.

SUMMARY:Radicals\, Realists\, and Repression: The State of Activism in the U.S.
DESCRIPTION:Join us on May 21st at 6:30pm for a panel on Radicals\, Realists\, and Repression: The State of Activism in the US. \nThe panel will feature Prof. Thomas Zeitzoff\, professor in the School of Public Affairs at American University and author of “No Option\, But Sabotage\,” Prof. Omar Wasow\, Assistant Professor in UC Berkeley’s Department of Political Science\, longtime environmental campaigner and organizer\, and co-host of the Green and Red Podcast\, Scott Parkin and Jason Myles\, host of THIS IS REVOLUTION>podcast. \nWe’ve been in the midst of a serious rollback of first amendment protected activities. States are passing anti-protest legislation\, police are increasingly militarized\, surveillance is being drastically increased on activist groups and the Trump administration is turning activism into terrorism. \nBUT\, we are also seeing new large-scale resistance from the massive No Kings and May Day mobilizations to fierce resistance to ICE in Los Angeles\, Chicago and Minneapolis\, communities and movements are fighting back. The anti-AI Data Center movement has blurred political divides across the country. Activists are not only marching in the street and disrupting authoritarian forces\, but actions at Tesla dealerships\, Kimberly Clark warehouses\, the offices of corporate war profiteers and other locations show a radical edge to today’s resistance. \nThis panel discussion will focus on the state of activism in the United States from its radicals to its realists\, how the state is responding with repression\, and understanding why movements and activists make the choices they do. \nWHERE: The Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists; 1924 Cedar St. Berkeley CA \nWHEN: May 21st\, 2026. Doors open at 6:30pm. The event begins at 7pm. \nRSVP: https://bit.ly/3QFR1XO

SUMMARY:Tri-Valley Polluters Pay Town Hall
DESCRIPTION:Big Oil and gas corporations have been profiting while our communities pay the price. But together\, we can make a difference! Join us in Dublin on June 6 for the Tri-Valley Polluters Pay Town Hall—an energizing morning of inspiration\, action\, and community as we flip the script. \nFrom devastating fires and floods to extreme heat and more intense storms\, climate change is here\, and the costs are only rising for Californians statewide. The world’s biggest fossil fuel polluters are overwhelmingly responsible for this intensifying climate devastation\, but right now\, it’s taxpayers and families struggling to rebuild who are footing the bill. We’ve paid enough! \nThe Polluters Pay Climate Superfund Act would hold major fossil fuel companies accountable for their share of climate-related damages to our state and reinvest that money in community resilience\, clean energy\, essential workers responding to climate disasters\, and much more. \nDiscover\, Connect\, and Take Action\nAt the Tri-Valley Polluters Pay Town Hall\, join neighbors\, advocates\, and experts for an energizing morning of community\, stories\, and climate solutions. \nKeynote Speaker: Dr. Clair Brown\, Professor Emerita of Economics and Director of the Center for Work\, Technology and Society at UC Berkeley\, brings her commitment to climate justice and a wealth of experience from organizations like 350 Bay Area\, Fossil Free California\, Sierra Club\, and Earth Justice. Dr. Brown will open the event with inspiring remarks on how smart economic policy can drive bold climate action\, setting the tone for an uplifting\, solution-oriented program. She’ll then moderate a lively\, interactive panel featuring leaders from labor\, interfaith\, climate action\, local government\, and more. \nDynamic Panel Discussion: Dive into a lively conversation with voices from across our community! Hear from two local high school students\, our very own Lead Organizer (Zoe Jonick)\, water experts\, climate insiders\, emergency responders\, unions and professional groups\, faith leaders\, and members of the agricultural community—all coming together to share their stories and solutions. \n\nPowerful Stories: Hear from electeds and diverse local speakers on the front lines.\nEnergetic Education: Discover how a “Polluters Pay” policy works––and how we’ll win it.\nInteractive Action: No boring slide decks! Get involved with engaging activities\, live strategy sessions\, and hands-on skill-building.\nCommunity Growth: Meet neighbors and fellow advocates who care deeply about accountability\, climate solutions\, and winning the transformative investments our communities deserve.\n\nJoin 350 Contra Costa and 350 Bay Area\, Indivisible\, Food and Water Watch\, Sierra Club\, TV Dems\, Climate Health Now\, California Interfaith Power and Light\, and neighbors from across the Tri-Valley as we gather for the Polluters Pay Town Hall in Dublin. This is your opportunity to get involved\, connect with dedicated advocates\, and help drive the campaign to hold polluters accountable while building a cleaner\, more just future for California. \nLet’s Make Polluters Pay and Invest in Our Communities! \nLet us know you’re coming: \nRegister here!

SUMMARY:Keep Coal Out of the East Bay
