Transportation Campaign meeting

August 6 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Items to discuss include the new draft of our vision for climate-friendly transportation in the Bay Area, electric vehicle events, electrifying transit, and more.  We meet on alternate sides of the bay – this month in Berkeley at the Sierra Club office–2530 San Pablo Ave, near Dwight–for transit access, take the 72/72M/72R bus from downtown Oakland or points north or check 511.org for your best route.

Please RSVP below.

Rough Agenda:

–Intro and greetings

–Review of what 350BA is, its mission, and a vision for our transportation system (Jack, briefly)
Action needs
–We need someone/people to follow calls on Land Use and CEQA–
Can someone attend the next Green CA call on Land Use/Transportation/CEQA?  These appear to be monthly calls. Rebecca Saltzman says the next one is not scheduled yet.
Reports
Legislative report (probably Kathy Dervin)
  — SB802  (Jack) – our letter to Senator Nancy Skinner
  — AB1184 (Marjorie) — The 1184 subcommittee is prepared to accept the bill as is (assuming Marjorie’s latest research did not uncover any really bad amendments etc.)
–TNC (Ubers and Lyfts) update (Sara)
–Electrification of buses–Jimmy O’Dea from Union of Concerned Scientists reporting on electrification of public transit buses (hopefully plus committee report with Troy Tournat, Chris Peeples, Mark Roest)
–possible report on electrification of employer buses
