Panel Bios
Chris Peeple: Chris Peeples has been an elected member of the Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District for the last 24 years. He is the lead director on AC Transit’s Zero Emission Bus (ZEB) program. He has lobbied and testified on hydrogen fuel cell electric buses before local, state and federal bodies. He has been an invited speaker and panelist at conferences and university programs. He saw his first fuel cell in 1960 at age 13.
Ms Margaret Gordon: is a co-founder of the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project, former Port of Oakland commissioner, and a lifelong community activist and tireless fighter for environmental and social justice.
Paul English: Dr. English is an environmental epidemiologist with the Public Health Institute in Oakland. He served as a consultant on heat preparedness for the Public Health Foundation of India and contributed to a systematic review of health indicators of climate change for the World Health Organization.
Tony Brasil: Mr. Brasil has 29 years of professional experience with the State of California and 24 of those years have been with the California Air Resources Board. He currently leads a team that implements existing regulations to reduce emission from trucks, buses, and off-road equipment and that develops new regulations with the goal of making a complete transition to zero-emissions.
