Bay Climate Action Plan

We’re lobbying our regional agencies to step up and provide real climate leadership beyond California’s efforts. The fact is, regardless of State claims that it is reaching its greenhouse gas reduction targets, the Bay Area’s direct GHG emissions have continued to rise. Our immediate focus is on the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.

The Legislative Committee studies, tracks, and recommends positions for California climate, clean energy and climate justice legislation. We also do direct outreach to legislators at their Sacramento or local offices, and testify at committee hearings.

Fossil Free California (FFCA) is the Divestment Campaign for 350 Bay Area. Divestment removes money from fossil fuel companies and related infrastructure (banks, pipelines, power plants). FFCA’s divestment campaigns target pension funds, personal finance, and legislation. Make California fossil free!

The Transportation Campaign: Transform the Bay Area's transportation systems to get off fossil fuels. Focus on regional transit, electric vehicles and other climate initatives.

Clean Energy

Clean Energy Campaign: Advancing clean energy in California through legislation,  policies, regulations  and community choice energy.

Fossil Fuel Resistance / Sunflower Alliance

With its five oil refineries and multiple export terminals, the Bay Area is an important nexus for the fossil fuel industry. This campaign reaches from hearing rooms to front porches to the streets to stop infrastructure expansion projects, extreme forms of oil extraction, and the shipping of dangerous fossil fuels through our communities.

About 350 Bay Area

We are you — San Francisco Bay Area residents working to stop climate chaos by supporting clean energy and eliminating fossil fuels.

Our Mission:   We are building a grassroots climate movement in the Bay Area & beyond that achieves deep reductions in carbon pollution and presses for socially equitable solutions and a just transition to clean energy.

Our Vision:  Our vision is that all who live in the Bay Area equitably share clean air, water and soil in a healthy, thriving and stable post-carbon future, benefiting all life.

Air District Work Makes History

Testimonial #3

About the Air District plan that 350 Bay Area championed:
“The BAAQMD plan to clean the air while reducing climate-impacting greenhouse gas emissions is an important step toward solving three major problems simultaneously – air pollution mortality, global warming, and energy security. This is an important leap forward.”

– Stanford Professor Mark Jacobson
